Wait when I watched this movie Sora and shiros weird relationship made perfect sense to me. I say this becuase Rico and shuvi were reincarnated together on Earth but we're a married couple during thier past lives , didn't want to be separated from each other , and of course lost the game at the end of the no game no life zero movie. Becuase of thier past lives Sora and shiro never lose a game except to one another , can't function of they are separated , are extremely close to one another in ways that would make you think they were married , Sora is a virgin becuase in his past life he couldn't have sex with shuvi who was basically an Android and cared about being with just her despite the fact that they couldnt do anything sexually, they take an loss to jibru in the movie but during thier new lives they beat her at a game and thus avenge that loss , and lastly they are so close to Stephanie because she is a descendant of Rico's sister and shuvis sister in law . Basically Stephanie serves as Sora and shiros link to thier past lives on disboard.

The reason why they were returned to disboard even makes sense becuase before dying Rico promised tet the god of games that the next time he and shuvi would never lose again and that they would show him . So becuase of this tet gives the two a second chance not just because he remembered that ancient promise but becuase Sora and shiro during thier past lives were responsible for him becoming a god so he had to return the favor.
In addition to this the reason why shiro is such a beast at playing chess is becuase during her past life she was a machine and was basically a super computer.
